WHY SOME COMMUNITIES SUCCEED AND OTHERS DON’T

The most important component of any successful community is that community members work together.  Every community has “nay” sayers, “go getters”, and those that do nothing.  When a project starts that impacts everyone or someone in the community one or all of the above could show up.

The community that can navigate the issues,  always holding community betterment as the goal,  is the community that will succeed.  Navigating these issues means listening to the “nay sayers”, embracing the “go getters”, and consistently tring to engage those that do nothing.  Avoiding the “nay sayers” is not the answer.  Only listening to the “go getters” breeds jealousy and contempt, and not engaging those that do nothing leads to community stagnation.

A community is like a beautifully woven colorful piece of fabric.  The beauty lies in the diversity,  the strength lies in the threads,  and the durabilbity lies in the weave that binds it together, a community.
